Henry Thomas a labourer, was born in 1885 in Coalville, Leics., in March 1901 he was residing at St. Georges Buildings, Ashby Road, Coalville, Leics., this being the family home of his paternal grandparents, Samuel Cliff a retired coal miner, born 1826 in Ravenstone, Leics., and his wife Jane, born 1828 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leics. In April 1911 Henry was employed as a coal miner and was residing at Monmouth Street, Hermitage Road, Coalville, Leics., together with his wife of six years, Harriet, born 1886 in Thringstone, Leics., and their children, John Henry, born 1905, Thomas, born 1906, Gladys, born 1909 and Catherine, born 1911, all their children were born in Coalville, Leics., this was the family home of his father and mother in law, Edward Stanley a retired coal miner, born 1829 in China and his wife Mary Ann, born 1853 in Thringstone, Leics., and their children, Mary Ann, born 1893 in Peggs Green, Leics., and John Arthur, born 1897 in Thringstone, Leics.
