Reported Missing

Capt. J. Ford Smith, 31, missing, believed killed. Capt. Ford Smith is the eldest son of Mr J. Ford Smith, headmaster of Market Bosworth Grammar School, and Mrs Ford Smith. He was recalled from sick leave five days after spending six weeks in hospital shortly before the unit, of which he was adjutant, left for Norway. He was formerly in business at York.

Reported Killed in Action

Capt. J. Ford Smith, eldest son of the headmaster of Market Bosworth Grammar School, who was included in the list of missing, believed killed of the Leicestershire Regiment, after the operations in Norway, is posted among the list of killed in action in the ninth War Office casualty list published on Friday.
