He was the son of James Allcroft a Gamekeeper, born 1872 in Weston Heath, Shropshire and his wife Florence Maud A. Allcroft (nee Colton, married in the 3rd quarter of 1897 in the Nottingham district), born in the 1st quarter of 1878 in Grantham, Lincolnshire. George was born on the 30th October 1900 in Belvoir, Leicestershire, in March 1901 the family home was at Keepers Lodge, Belvoir, Leics. In April 1911 George was a schoolboy and was residing in the family home at Belvoir, Leics., together with his father, a gamekeeper, his mother and siblings, Florence Margaret, born 1903, Florence Violet, born 1906 and May born 1906, all his siblings were born in Belvoir, Leicestershire. George attested into the Royal Air Force on the 1st October 1918 for the duration of the war, and was allocated the service number 183749. His medical examination recorded that he was 5 foot 8 inches in height, with a chest measurement of 33 inches, his complexion was described as fresh, his hair colour was dark brown and he had blue eyes, he gave his trade or calling as gamekeeper and his religion as Church of England. He gave his date and place of birth as the 30th October 1900 in the parish of Belvoir, Leics. He gave his father James Allcroft, of Belvoir, Grantham as his next of kin. George died on the 10th November 1918.
