He was the son of Samuel Bamford a Colliery Banksman, born 1858 in Macclesfield, Cheshire and his wife Hannah, born 1859 in Coalville, Leicestershire. Reynold George was a Coal Miner, Hewer Loader, born in 1891 in Coalville, Leicestershire, he had one sibling, a sister Beatrice, born 1894 in Coalville, Leicestershire. In April 1911 the family home was at 43, Charnwood Street, Coalville, Leicestershire. Reynold later married and became the husband of the late Isobel Maria Bamford.

LOCAL CASUALTIES

Mrs J. M. Bamford, of Waterworks Road, Coalville, has been informed officially that as no further news has been received relative to Sapper Reynold George Bamford, of the Royal Engineers, who has been missing since May 12th, 1916, the Army Council have been regretfully constrained to conclude that his death took place on that date, or since.
