He was the son of Alfred and Emma Clara Wiggett. The War Diary entry for the 31st October 1916 records. Wiring parties again interfered with by the searchlight. A considerable amount of wire had been put out in front of the sector, very little existing wire was found. Casualties in the Battalion from 2nd to the 31st October were, 1 officer and 6 other ranks.

LOCAL CASUALTIES

Mrs Wiggett, of Ashby, has just been informed of the death of her son, Private A. H. Wiggett, who was killed in action October 31st. The deceased soldier enlisted in the 3rd Leicesters, and was afterwards transferred to another battalion. He was 28 years of age. Much sympathy is expressed to Mrs Wiggett, she is a widow.
