Source: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of H. Smart. The War Diary entry for the 24th September 1917 records. DICKEBUSCH. All Companies worked as before. 5 men were admitted to the hospital sick and 4 wounded, one of which died. A draft of 14 other ranks were taken on the strength. 2nd Lt. H. COY and 2nd Lt. A. E. BALCHIN reported for duty.
