Teigh Memorial Stone Unveiled

On Monday 4 Aug 2014, villagers from Teigh in Rutland gathered to unveil a ‘Thankful Village’ Centenary plaque presented by Welsh motorcyclists Medwyn Parry and Dougie Bancroft during their 2013 tour of the 51 Thankful Villages in aid of the Royal British Legion. The Welsh slate plaque has been mounted on a staddle stone from a Teigh farm crew yard. Three of the children of the 14 men from Teigh who came home from WW1 were invited to unveil the plaque, watched by a  large group of Teigh residents, local dignitaries, and residents of nearby villages . Prayers were said by the Vicar, Reverend Janet Tebby.

Kind thanks to Sally Harnett for this news and accompanying photographs.
